Shelby Connell – Moroccanoil, Artistic Team
Shelby has been in the hair industry for 10 years. Growing up in the salon environment, she always knew her calling was in making women feel beautiful. Her love for what she does and her creative inspiration have helped to grow her own successful salon business.
As an international stylist and businesswoman, Shelby’s continued enthusiasm, innovative techniques and pursuit of education have kept her on the cutting edge of the beauty industry. Her passion for the industry and her clients continues to make her the successful stylist she is today. She’s well known for her creativity, as well as her positive energy while educating everyone she comes into contact with.
A confessed Moroccanoil addict for 5 years prior to joining the team, she is excited to join a company that combines gorgeous, lasting styles with beautiful, healthy hair. She strives to always discover new and exciting ways to use the line and educate people to help make their styling easier and more manageable. Her work for Moroccanoil has included hairstyling for American Salon and Modern Salon magazines, as well as platform education at the Behind the Chair Color, Cut & Style Show.
Emmanuelle Campoleti – Moraccanoil Artistic Team
Growing up in a family of hairstylists, Emmanuelle discovered her own passion for hair at an early age. She started her career assisting two uncles at the salon, and after four years of working behind the chair as a hairstylist, she began to search for new challenges. In 2004 Emmanuelle began styling hair near her native city of Montreal. By 2008, she started working freelance on photo shoots, short films, TV shows, magazine shoots and fashion shows—from private designer shows to Montreal and New York Fashion Weeks. She has worked with top designers such as Zac Posen, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa and Monique Lhuillier, while her editorial work has been published in Elle Quebec, Snap, Clin d’oeil and more. Emmanuelle’s talent and sense of adventure have led her to work abroad in countries like Australia, Vietnam, South Korea and Thailand.
Now an industry professional for more than 10 years, Emmanuelle shares her expertise by giving classes to hairstylists and makeup artists, including a series of 12 classes for makeup artists from Cirque du Soleil. She also gives hair tutorials to clients at the salon she co-owns in Montreal, and she frequently styles hair for the city’s wedding industry. “I love to transform a woman, taking her natural potential, bringing it up to the surface and giving her the confidence to shine and to feel beautiful,” she shares.
Roy Jay White, Hattori Hanzo Educator
Roy Jay White comes to the Hattori Hanzo cutting team with a powerful reputation in the world of Barbering. His family legacy, as a fourth-generation barber, has helped mold him into the cutting machine he is today.
Roy Jay has 15 years of experience behind the chair and as a barbershop owner. He is known for creating a national cutting system called Chop Suey which specializes in short hair cutting for both men and women.
He wants to deliver 100% accurate, and researched, information as well as valuable techniques in his teachings. Hattori Hanzo gives him the platform to teach artists who aspire to be creative and truly change the world.
Roy Jay’s seven years of experience teaching in salons, and as a platform artist, have placed him in high demand. His high energy, motivational delivery, and infectious passion, assures that when he enters the room and delivers a seminar, attendees will leave remembering him.
Stormi Kelley, Hattori Hanzo Educator
Taken by storm, the first impression of Stormi Kelley is just that; truly impressive. Presence, purpose and higher standards are the name of the game with this creative.
With humble roots, Stormi began her career in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Paul Mitchell’s most renowned salon where she mastered principles of geometry with haircutting. Guided by determination, she moved to the west coast, working alongside John Paul Mitchell Systems Global, Artistic and Business Director &Global Education Vice President. She also mentored and trained with the most influential barber and educator in the industry, which contributed to refining her business and leadership skills.
Between travel and dedication to her career, Stormi’s chameleon personality has allowed her to work in diverse communities, truly meeting the needs of people and taking their experience to the next level.
Giles Robinson, Color WOW Global Director of Training and Education
Stylist, educator, brand ambassador and TV/media personality, Giles Robinson is a “demo dynamo” in the world of international hair styling…and a self-proclaimed Color Wow fanatic!
Giles is a veteran of the UK’s most prestigious salons and he is well recognized for his signature and customized work with an elite clientele of royals, celebrities and diplomats. Giles’ artistic talent and charismatic charm have propelled him to the forefront of professional education: in salons, in stores, online and on the air. His collection of tutorials are some of the most viewed online in the industry today.

John Aultman, By Gina International Artistic Director
John Aultman serves as the International Director of Education for on Gina Rivera’s International Artistic Team. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, Aultman has served as an educator for the past decade first with Matrix then with Phenix Salon Suites.
As a certified color specialist, Aultman specializes in advanced color techniques and color theory. Since joining the Gina Rivera’s Artistic Team in 2012, he has taught numerous classes and seminars throughout the United States.
Aultman’s portfolio includes numerous hair shows, model preparation for photo and camera shoots, on stage presentations, and multiple classes where he has served as the key educator. As a sought after stylist, Aultman has been featured several years running as the winner of Best of Colorado Springs, the city where he resides.
Heather Nitta, By Gina International Artist
Heather Nitta is an established beauty expert with more than 15 years of professional hair and makeup experience. Nitta has worked with well-known clients, top influencers, and mainstream celebrities in the fashion and entertainment industry. Her vast portfolio includes the Sundance Film festival, NBCs Biggest Loser Finale, and multiple award show runway looks including the GRAMMYs and the Academy Awards.
As a member of Gina Rivera’s Artistic Team, Nitta has a passion for collaborating with clients and models to bring out their natural beauty with the artistic aid of hair and makeup expression. Known for being highly educated and current with today’s hair and makeup trends, she is well versed at being highly creative as an artist while remaining true to the classic beauty aesthetics that she loves.
Dana Powell, By Gina National Artist
Dana Powell has been in the beauty business for close to 20 years. Dana joined Gina Rivera’s Phenix Education team in 2015. She is passionate about educating others and travels regularly to share the newest trends and most current techniques in the industry. As a member of Gina Rivera’s Education Team, Dana has been seen in the classrooms and on the stages of Phenix Salon Suites as well as Peter Coppola.
Dana has appeared multiple times on the Home Shopping Network demonstrating the By Gina hot tool line. In 2017 Dana worked at NBA All Star week preparing models for runway shows. She also prepared topped talent for the stages of the Coachella Music Festival. Dana enjoys sharing methods with stylist that will help them to work smarter rather than harder. As an artist, she encourages others to follow their intuition and work outside of the box. She believes there are many options for exercising her craft and emphasizes trying new formulas and expressing art through color.
Richie Roman, By Gina National Artist
Richie Roman is an internationally televised celebrity hairstylist. Millions grew to love him after watching him on the CBS Emmy winning television series UNDERCOVER BOSS where he was selected as an award recipient by Phenix Salon Suites Founder & Beauty Icon, Gina Rivera. He was also featured on the Bravo hit series Tabatha’s Salon Takeover. Richie has also worked prepping models at NBA All Star week at the “Basketball Wives” celebrity, Angel Brinks, fashion show. In addition, he prepared headline talent for the stages of the Coachella Music Festival.
Roman’s talent in the hair and beauty industry is well recognized and has earned him two North American Hairstyling Award nominations. Roman is passionate about textured hair and is a platform educator as well as an Artistic Director on Gina Rivera’s Artistic Team. Roman’s creative eye and attention to detail has made him a sought after hairstylist on the set and runway, by his loyal clientele, and at national education events throughout the United States.
Chenille Pauls, By Gina Artistic Director
As a member of Gina Rivera’s Artistic Team, Chenille arrived on the hair design scene with an exceptional mastery of her craft. With a knack for matching clients with that “just right” look, Chenille utilizes advanced techniques to provide that perfect style and color design. Chenille has participated in preparing models and headline artist to appear in major events such as NBA All Star Week festivities and the Coachella Music Festival.
She is well known for her masterful skills at creating color that flatters and accentuates the beauty in each individual. From fashioning the perfect look to providing the most innovative color techniques, clients are impressed and drawn her well-informed approach. Chenille excels at leveraging her professional experience with the ability to innovate and design fantastic results for her diverse range of clientele.
Katrina Jackson (Kat Tat), Tattoo Artist
Katrina Jackson better known as “Kat Tat” from MTV’s Chicago Black Inkwill join the education stages this year as well as appearing on opening night. Jackson is one of the most well-known tattoo artist in the industry today. Her work has been featured on major networks and across social media platforms.
With an immense following, Jackson will share her insights on how she in inspired to create her artwork as well as how she addresses the unique needs of her clients. From their skin types to their artistic requests, Jackson will share her knowledge and tips that she has perfected through years of harnessing her craft.
Char Fontanills – Guest Artist – Aesthetician
Char Fontanills began her career over 30 years ago in the beauty industry with a major Skin care company. She was promoted to the top ranks of leadership and sales within her first year and continued to receive awards for the top 2% of achievers.
In 2016 after graduating from the International School of Esthetics she decided to open her first spa. Within 8 months of opening she had generated a loyal clientele earning her an annualized income of nearly 6 figures her very first year. That same year Char was awarded the honor and title of “Best New Esthetician” at the international Skin Games completion in 2016. By 2017 Char launched her own device company called Osmosis Body LLC and brought to market their first machine Osmosis +Sculpt for Body.
Her machines use low electrical currents such as nano, pico and microcurrent. Her mission is to bring the latest technology to market that exceed client expectations and eliminate the need for surgical procedures for most clients. Char’s company has paved the way for financial independence for licensed beauty and wellness professionals all across the US and Canada. In Dec 2018, Inspired by Gina Rivera’s story and the Phenix mission , Char decided to become a Phenix Franchise owner and Managing Partner. She continues to pursue her love of aesthetics and supports other with the same goals through her ownership of a Phenix location.
Nanci Lee, Great Lengths USA, National Educator
Working in the renowned, B2V Salon in West Hollywood, CA, Nanci Lee is known for her vivid imagination and the distinct creative style that sets her work apart. Highly accomplished at both hair cutting and colouring, she expanded her repertoire by becoming a Great Lengths Specialist and Educator.
With an impressive roster of celebrity clients, Nanci Lee has also appeared on camera as the primary extension specialist on “Extreme Makeover” as well as a behind the scenes stylist on American Idol and The Bachelorette. In addition, Nanci co-directed the hairstyling for Rachel Zoe’s runway show and acted as the director of creative execution for the 2019 NAHA opening stage presentation.
Allison Mejia – Guest Nail Artist
Allison Mejia is a confessed hair stylist turned nail artist. Now known for creating nail designs that can only be described as works of art, she has found her passion in the world of nails. Mejia, who has been in the business since she was 18 years, started out using nail stamps and stickers. Eventually, she transitioned into hand painted art. She perfected her art by accepting each client’s request to paint artwork onto their nails. She worked to finely detail her work and challenged herself to fit her artwork onto her client’s nails. Her work progressed over time from creating one design on each hand, to creating something different on all 10 fingers.
It wasn’t long before clients began to request images that weren’t available on stamps. Some of the requests included Disney characters, sports teams, and musician album covers. After graduating from cosmetology school in 2012, Alison began practicing her craft out of her home. Later she moved her business to Phenix Salon Suites, Orange County, CA.
Allison’s goal is to take people’s imaginations and spread the images that they picture across their nails. Her favorite designs to create are memorial nails, and sports teams. She values the relationships that the industry offers and enjoys being pushed to her creative limits by her clients.
Shelby McKinney & Hanna Kohout – Guest Lash Artists
Shelby McKinney and Hanna Kohout of North Texas are classically trained cosmetologist who graduated from the Paul Mitchell school located in Dallas. After graduating, both searched for the perfect fit for their artistic passions. Shelby knew she wanted to do eyelash extensions, however, couldn’t find a company where she could grow as an artist. At the same time, Hanna took a career detour through hairdressing.
Joining forces at a salon where Shelby worked as a full-time lash artist, Hanna, trained to become a lash artist as well. In December 2014 LASHING OUT was born and is currently located in Uptown Dallas. LASHING OUT strives to set a new standard in the lash industry for education, growth, and development of their stylists. A highly successful business, their salon currently includes seven fabulous stylists and over 400 consistent clients.
